aloha.fyi ("we", "us") is an AI-powered Hawaiʻi tourism concierge operated by ALOHAFYI LLC, a Hawaiʻi limited liability company based in Honolulu, Hawaiʻi. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to the aloha.fyi website, the Nani chat concierge, and the aloha-fyi MCP server used by third-party AI assistants.

Information we collect

We collect three kinds of information:

Conversation content. Messages you send to Nani or to other agents on aloha.fyi, including any trip details, preferences, party size, dates, and questions you share.
Contact details you provide. Name, email address, and phone number when you save an itinerary, request follow-up, or book an experience.
Technical and usage data. Standard server logs such as IP address, user agent, referrer, pages visited, and request timestamps, plus the analytics and advertising cookies described in "Analytics, cookies, and advertising" below.

We do not ask for and do not store payment card numbers, bank details, passport numbers, or other sensitive identifiers. Bookings are completed on third-party platforms (Viator, GetYourGuide, Klook, Groupon, FareHarbor) which handle payment under their own terms.

Analytics, cookies, and advertising

We use the following third-party analytics and advertising tools, which set cookies and collect device and usage identifiers (such as your IP address, browser, pages viewed, and clicks on booking links) to measure traffic and the performance of our marketing:

Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC) — measures site traffic and which content and tours visitors engage with.
Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms, Inc.) — measures the performance of our Facebook and Instagram ads and helps us reach similar audiences. We may share hashed event data (such as a booking-link click) with Meta for ad measurement and optimization.
Klaviyo (Klaviyo, Inc.) — powers our email and SMS marketing and onsite signup forms, and associates activity with you once you provide an email or phone number.

You can control or block cookies through your browser settings, opt out of Google Analytics with Google's browser opt-out add-on, adjust ad personalization in your Meta ad preferences, and unsubscribe from any marketing email or SMS using the link in the message. These tools are operated by the named companies under their own privacy policies.

How we use information

To answer your questions and recommend tours, restaurants, and events that fit your trip.
To remember your preferences across a session so Nani can give better suggestions.
To follow up by email or SMS only when you have asked us to.
To operate, secure, and improve the site and the concierge agents.
To produce anonymized, aggregated insights about which kinds of experiences visitors ask about.

We do not sell personal information. We do not use your conversations to train third-party foundation models.

Text messaging (SMS)

If you give us your mobile number — in the Nani chat to receive your itinerary or a follow-up, or by texting our number directly — you consent to receive text messages from aloha.fyi (ALOHAFYI LLC) related to your trip and the experiences you ask about. Message frequency varies; message and data rates may apply.

Reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe; reply HELP for help.
We do not share or sell your mobile number or SMS consent with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing. No mobile information is shared with third parties for marketing or promotional purposes.
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Providing a mobile number is never required to use aloha.fyi or to get answers from Nani.

AI models and subprocessors

To power Nani and the other agents, we route requests through third-party AI providers and infrastructure partners. These partners process conversation content on our behalf under their own data processing terms:

Anthropic (Claude models for Nani and Leilani)
OpenAI (embeddings and supporting models)
Z.AI / GLM (Japanese, Korean, and Chinese localization)
Railway (application hosting)
Vercel (website hosting)
Supabase / PostgreSQL (data storage)

MCP server (for AI assistants)

aloha.fyi publishes a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server at mcp-server-nani-v3-20.up.railway.app/mcp. AI assistants such as Claude can connect to it to search our catalog of Hawaiʻi tours, deals, and events on behalf of their users.

The MCP server:

Only accepts search parameters (query, island, price range, category, date range). It does not accept or request personal information about the end user.
Returns publicly available tour catalog data with affiliate booking links.
Logs standard request metadata (timestamp, tool name, anonymized IP) for abuse prevention and capacity planning. We do not log query contents for marketing purposes.
Runs in stateless mode — there is no per-user session, no persistent identifier, and no cross-request profile.

Affiliate links

Many booking links on aloha.fyi are affiliate links. When you book through one of them, the booking platform pays us a commission at no additional cost to you. Affiliate partners may set their own cookies to attribute the booking; their use of that data is governed by their privacy policies.

Retention

Conversation transcripts and contact details are retained only as long as needed to provide the service and respond to follow-ups, and then deleted or anonymized. Server logs are retained for up to 90 days for security and debugging.

Your choices

You can ask us at any time to:

Export a copy of the information we hold about you.
Delete your conversation history and contact details.
Opt out of follow-up email or SMS.

Email michael@aloha.fyi with your request. We respond within 14 days.

Children

aloha.fyi is intended for adults planning travel. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service evolves. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of aloha.fyi after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
